APPLIED FINANCE CENTRE
About Us
Overview
Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre (MAFC) was founded in 1980. Its activities include post-graduate teaching, research, executive education and the provision of a forum for the discussion of topics relevant to the Australian and international finance sectors. The Centre is active in Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore and Beijing.
Please visit our Program Information area to find out more about our post-graduate and executive education programs, including the Master of Applied Finance.

Our Faculty
The Centres teaching and research activities are undertaken by a mix of full-time and adjunct faculty. Each of our teaching staff has advanced academic qualifications as well as many years senior practical experience in the finance industry. This ensures that they are able to deliver insights beyond those found in textbooks. The Centres Applied Finance Program is thus a blend of theoretical and practical skills that provide students with the necessary knowledge to further their chosen careers.
Our Students
With a degree offered in four countries, as well as a full-time (Sydney based) program that draws a large number of international students, MAFC has a dynamic, practical and global focus. Our students come from all sectors of the world, and their undergraduate qualifications include accounting, economics, law, languages and computer sciences - to name a few. The majority are concurrently employed in finance-related positions, for example: accountants, lenders, traders, project managers, finance lawyers, IT specialists.
Other Services
The Centre also offers the Finance Professionals seminar series, held at our Sydney office for professionals working in the finance industry. For further details, please click here.
